Revision in Enrichment Week 17/02/20
Students in English delved into Enrichment Week by dissecting a mock examination paper. As a class, they engaged in riveting discussions on how they think questions should be answered in an English paper, sharing their own ideas with reasonably detailed examples. This gave their peers an insight into exactly what the examiners are looking for, providing them a finer understanding into how each mark is scored.
To prepare for their upcoming assessment, students in Criminology went beyond common assumptions by reviewing previously explored case studies and analysing the complex and contentious nature of the crime. Through an interdisciplinary approach, they compared these case studies, drawing on aspects of sociology, psychology and law, and distinguished between violent and white-collar crimes. Students have established that there is an umbrella of categories to consider when researching the origins of a crime, and that not all is painted black and white!
